the 36O church                      get connected

@ Groups

WHAT ARE @ GROUPS?
@ Groups consist of 12-14 people who meet in homes outside of our weekend worship gatherings.

WHAT DO YOU DO IN AN @ GROUP?
First, @ Groups are a great place to connect on the next level.  It’s tough to have deeper connections at weekend worship gatherings - @ Groups allow for closer friendships to take place.  Second, we study together for spiritual growth.  Finally, we serve together - each group serves the community together.

HOW OFTEN DO @ GROUPS MEET?
We meet twice a month for study and time together and then one other time to serve in the community.

HOW ARE THE GROUPS FORMED?
We form our groups by stage-of-life, putting people together that will be most likely to have life experience in common and form significant friendships.

HOW ABOUT CHILDCARE?
Each family is responsible for their own childcare.  Our @ Groups are intended to give you a relaxed 90 minutes to focus and enjoy.

WHAT DO WE STUDY IN AN @ GROUP?
All of our groups center around a discussion of the previous week’s sermon.  At each weekend gathering, an outline, audio recording of the message, and homework will be available.  (This will also be available online)  There are number of benefits to this.  1) You’ll already have a headstart on the homework - which will only take 20-30 minutes  2) Instead of packing in more and more info, we believe in the power of simplicity - learning something and focusing on that one thing each week  3) We have a sense of unity churchwide as we study and discuss the same theme  4) We get to talk about it!  There will be a great chance of applying our teachings when we talk it out, study it and hopefully, live it out together.

WHERE DO @ GROUPS MEET?
We meet in the homes of our leaders and hosts - it’s cozy!

WHAT’S UP WITH THE NAME ‘@ GROUP’?
The @ symbol has become a common everyday icon in the email culture - all of our emails have it.  The @ symbol means that we are at a certain place at a certain time - TOGETHER.  And just like our 36O logo, the @ symbol includes a circle image that gives us the image of being connected together.
